Patricia Patton’s grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Keith, and great-grandmother, Della Thompson, quilted with their church group in the small town of Connellsville, PA and made this bright orange and cream quilt probably in the 1940s. The orange fabric was commonly called “Cheddar”, and the pattern is a Rob Peter to Pay Paul, or Orange Peel.

Hello! I've been sewing and quilting for 30+ years. I feel an emotional attachment to old quilts, stories of quilters, and antiques. My interests include traditional quilt patterns, quilt history, children's quilting books, quilts for charitable organizations/fundraising, and of course, all things kitty.
